What do you understand about the concept of "technology"?
“Technology” means massive reproducible tools, devices, structures, methods, and systems based on scientific knowledge for purposeful goals whose dimensions are instrumentality and productivity.
Craftsmanship (i.e. technic) and technology are different terms, the former is not based on scientific knowledge, but the latter is. The people who design technology are engineers or technologists, and those who make craftsmanships are artisans or craftspersons, whereas those who aim to create a unique piece are artists. However, we are immersing in technology since the industrial revolution, the late 19th century, and the early 20th century, when we abandoned craftsmanship to cover human needs, “the age of transformation”.
Some people hate technology and others love it. Neo-Luddites are those who hate or resist technology whereas geeks, technophiles, or techies love it.

Gartner Hype Cycle provides a visual representation of the maturity, adoption, and business application of Emerging Information and Communication Technologies attempting to capture the market state every year. Its goals are reducing the risk of investments, separating hype from real advances, and understanding technology’s business value, in short, it answers the “Is the Hype real?”
Nowadays, it represents a historical document for science and technology too. For example, we’ve observed that past concepts have been reinvented with new names, especially when they didn’t work such as Intelligent Agents called Chatbots today. Lots of technologies die. It’s difficult to make predictions.
